CO Dinner – Clothing Optional Dinners In New York City

Clothes Optional Dinners or “CO Dinners” by Felicity Jones
CO Dinners or Clothes Optional Dinners in NYC – I do not know about you, readers, but I always find it interesting and amusing to read stories from the perspective of someone who’s never been involved with naturism or a societal nudity setting. After awhile it feels like there’s actually a formula to these narratives: the amusing expectancies, nervousness, the climax moment where the writer takes the plunge into total nudity among others, followed by realizations and decisions of, hopefully, “this isn’t so bad.”
I’m certain if you studied you’d come across tons of stories from people writing about their first time at a nudist resort, club or sand (or “colony” from the less educated sources). It makes for a great news story, and occasionally can find some insightful observations or refined prose to allow it to be fascinating. I came across one such well-composed storyline from 2008: “Hold the Dressing. My Nighttime at an All Naked Nyc Dinner Party” by Arianne Cohen. Her writing is quite amusing, and her impressions look trustworthy.
I do not think I’ve ever met the host named Richard, but this was likely a clothes optional dinner party thrown by CO Dinner (clothing optional), an old group that would consistently organize these sorts of assemblies in NYC.
I enjoy this section in particular:
“Folks take themselves differently when naked; it’s more legitimate. You are able to read who individuals are in a glimpse. I envisioned the heavily makeup’ed fashionistas of my Upper East Side neighborhood melting down under these conditions, their coiffed facades broken, their characters unable to function in the harsh light of reality. There’s something very real about naked dinner.
Here she hits upon a motive lots of people pursue unclothed parties, socials or gatherings. You take away the clothes and facades to be faced with a genuine man, the human being. Once naked, you’re not your clothes and all the things those cloths say about you. You are just simplyyou.

Cohen also says, “New York City is among the worst places on Earth to be a naturist.” Ha! She backs up this powerful assertion by saying there’s just one bare beach for eight million individuals. There is certainly actually than one bare beach on Long Island, and they’re surprisingly not too crowded. Plus, at least women have the right to go top-free in public in NYC. Now if only NYPD did not get so handcuff-joyful about public nudity, detaining individuals even in scenarios where the nudity is legal in public, such as art performances.
I’d also claim against this remark with the simple fact that Nudist Portal now exists, giving anyone the chance to attempt to social nudism in the town!
